Primarily, the artistic focus of Maarten Haverkamp lies within the state of metamorphosis as it applies to self and environment. His observance and photographic documentation of those changes...changes which go unnoticed, which alter over time, are revelatory, as well as a celebration of transformation itself. The exceptional lies nestled within the ordinary, both on a universal and personal level; it is this recognition which is documented, with a sense of aweand exuberance in his photographic imagery.

Sellars Project Space's opening reception for Haverkamp's (IN)VISIBLE exhibition proved to be an exciting evening during the First Friday Art Walk in the Berkeley Highlands Neighborhood of North Denver. This area, minutes from downtown Denver, is home to many restaurant, shops and most importantly incredible art galleries and artist studios. Estimating 500+ visitors for the opening reception, many visitors were able to talk to Maarten about his work and to spend time looking closely that the elegant and sophisticated works. After two weeks testing, printing, mounting and framing - (IN)VISIBLE is ready for exhibition. Maarten worked closely with Photo Craft of Boulder, Colorado to properly reproduce, mount and frame his new larger works for this exhibition.
